They tried to bury a generation, but they forgot they were seeds. Today, as the Economic Reformers Movement, we walk the streets of Nairobi not just to mourn, but to make a profound commitment: We will complete the work they started.

The crackdown on the 2024 protests—particularly the dark days surrounding June 25th—was a calculated act of lethal overreach. Proponents of “order” argue that police must use force to maintain stability. But we know the truth. Human rights organizations confirm that over 60 peaceful demonstrators were murdered by security forces during that dark season.
These were young citizens marching peacefully with nothing but smartphones and Kenyan flags, demanding that their government respect the Constitution and manage public funds with integrity. The response from the regime, which we must now identify as a mechanism of systemic looting and constitutional neglect, was horrifying:
- Plainclothes Abductions: State agents, operating in unmarked vehicles and dressed in civilian clothes, snatched youth activists right off the streets, operating outside the rule of law.
- Live Ammunition: Police units fired indiscriminately into crowds of peaceful protesters.
- The Breakdown of Accountability: Two years later, investigations are stalled, and no high-ranking official has been held accountable for the orders that led to this slaughter. This complete breakdown of accountability isn’t just an isolated anomaly—it is a feature of a broken governance system.

When the government is ready to open the door to more imported resources while ignoring its own people, we must remember who paid the price for this neglect. We read out their names today to ensure they are forever etched into Kenya’s history.
We owe it to their families, their loved ones, and future generations to ensure that their immense sacrifice is never forgotten.

Our Promise: Completing the Fight for Transparency
The fallen Gen Z prophets did not give their lives just for us to complain on social media or wait five years to voice our frustration. They died because our leadership completely abandoned the manifestos they used to beg for our vote. They died because the very concept of accountability had ceased to exist.
This brings us to the unbreakable foundation of the Economic Reformers Movement.
We do not oppose international trade, but we firmly believe that Kenya must protect the interests of its own people first. True food security and economic sovereignty cannot be built on dependence; it must be built on the strength of our domestic livestock production, our agriculture, and our local industries.
This level of true reform is impossible if we notice anomalies but feel powerless to stop them. We must activate our constitutional authority. Article 104 of the Constitution gives you—the citizen—the ultimate power of RECALL. When a leader refuses to adhere to the Constitution, or totally neglects the promises they made, we have the right to remove them.
